Bitfinex is one of the longest-running cryptocurrency exchanges, trusted by customers around the world. I joined Bitfinex as Head of Design to lead a rethink of their design strategy, brand direction, and product experience, modernizing the platform while preserving its well-established identity.

The Bitfinex leaf icon, already widely recognized, was kept intact to ensure brand consistency. Updates focused on supporting elements, including new color treatments and adaptable visual components, helping modernize the brand without disrupting user trust.

BRAND

As a globally recognized brand, Bitfinex’s existing logo remained a core benchmark for the updated identity. My goal was to evolve the brand without losing familiarity — introducing a refreshed color palette, soft gradients, and a new set of illustrations to give Bitfinex a friendlier, more human-centered feel while retaining its professional and trusted presence.

The website was updated to reflect Bitfinex’s refreshed visual language, focusing on clarity, accessibility, and user trust. Clean typography, updated colors, and consistent visual elements help create a more approachable and modern user experience, without compromising on performance or content density.

TRADING PLATFORM

A core part of the work was the redesign of the Bitfinex trading platform, based on extensive user research and testing. We focused on improving clarity, usability, and accessibility for advanced traders, while creating an extensive design system to ensure consistency across web and mobile platforms. The result was a more modern and intuitive interface, supporting both experienced and new users without alienating the core trading community.
